Powderglass King beads, green with amber and red decor 15x14mm
Making this style of bead in a clay mold is a real feat of ingenuity by Krobo bead-makers of Ghana. The beads are made in 2 cone shaped halves and then fused together. Getting spots of amber and red requires careful placement of small of pulverized amber and red glass inside the edges of the mold before the majority of the green powdered glass sifted in. It's such a lot of work, that the makers told me they aren't making them anymore.
The cost of the original antique Venetian King beads just keeps going up tho, so who knows. I decided to buy all the strands I liked and am also offering them as strands at AFG-111
