- Unusually wide, slightly graduated center-drilled "sticks" 5mm wide and 30mm long at the center graduating down to aobut 20mm long at each end
- Putting a seed bead or tiny metal bead between each stick will help these lie flat in a curve, if that's the effect you want.

- Lapis gets its name from Arabic and Latin for “blue stone”
- The finest royal blue Lapis comes from the West Hindu Kush mountains of Afghanistan. It's flecked with gold Pyrite, which shows it’s natural and not dyed.
- Beloved from ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia to Greece and Rome, Lapis was used it as a reward for bravery. It was also considered to be a stone of royalty in ancient Sumer and China, and later in Russia as well as other European countries.
