Guatemalan jadeite axe blade pendant from the workshop of Jay and Mary Lou Ridinger, strung with serpentine and matte finish carnelian rondelles. The Ridingers made jade history when they finally discovered the source of ancient Maya jadeite in 1974. It hand been lost since the Spanish conquest. Today Guatemala is a major source of jade as a result.
The Ridingers maintain a small museum in Antigua, Guatemala and employ many skilled carvers to replicate old designs and make new ones in this very hard to work material.

All my work is strung on soft flexible cable wire. I prefer the Flex-Rite brand.

Just like in the Beadazzled stores, I hope you'll shop, but I'm also offering my work as inspiration for your own designs.
