Set of 7 rare antique Venetian lampwork beads in color coordinated set with amber and brick red designs on green cores
Set contains: one very unusual large 35x13mm green core bead with amber stripes and brick, amber and milk latticino "eyes"
Two even more unusual 12x9mm beads in which half the core is amber and half green, with stripes and eye designs in amber, white and brick red
And 4 smaller cylindrical beads with green cores and complex eye designs, or in one case red and amber wavy lines
All in all, a unique collector set, or starting point for a great necklace design
Made in Venice, Italy between early 1800s and early 1900s for the African trade
I collected these in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire early 1970s
Only one set available. Green antique Venetian lampwork are almost as rare as blue or turquoise ones
When I was trying to collect all the beads pictured in the Picards' books (see our Tools, Findings and Books Collection) I created dozens of 60-compartment trays of one-of-a-kind black, yellow, and brick antique Venetian lampworked beads, but only managed to fill one partial tray with ones.
