Ethnic Jewelry, From Africa, Europe and Asia, by Sibylle Jargstorf
Soft cover, 160 pages with abundant photos though the quality of printing is not the best
This is an older book, that has been superseded by newer, larger and much more expensive ones that cover this topic or parts of it.
However for a beginner, I think book still hold value for the breadth of its focus. I touches on many of the areas whose beads are most popular among beaders today: Morocco, West Africa (Ghana, Mali, Nigeria) East Africa (Masai, Dinka Ethiopia) Southern Africa (seed beads) Oman, Turkestan, Afghanistan, the Himalayas and Naga, as well as European examples (Baltics, Russia, Hungary, Alps, and areas influenced by Ottoman rule)
I've loaned my copy to various costume and textile artists and researchers who are interested in related beads.
