Vintage oval African Amber beads, light amber color 24x16mm
These show some wear, with some of the ends being a little more worn on one side than the other. This makes them ideal for necklaces because the slight slant helps make a smooth curve in the necklace.
On the other hand they are less suitable for earrings, because they might not hang straight. You could file the ends flat, use the flatter end as the bottom, or distract from the unevenness by mounting these beads on top of a tassel.
These are lighter in color and in weight than the older beads
These are probably from the 1940s and 1950s
These make a nice change of shape from the typical oblates and are light enough to be used for earrings if you work around the uneven ends.
The hole is large enough for leather.
