Long, light green serpentine ovals, 45-50mm, with etched designs filled with white pigment. Serpentine, often a substitute for jade, has been popular in Afghanistan, along with turquoise and lapis, for centuries.
I couldn't resist these when one of my favorite dealers in Afghan lapis and Turkoman jewelry showed them to me. I love these shapes and the designs are something new. I know I'll be designing with them. Here are some for you too
I can't guarantee how long the white markings will last, but I think they should be ok with normal wear. A quick scrub with dish washing liquid didn't remove them.
