Very large and unusual jade Axe blade shaped pendant with diagonal white line
23mm wide at the top by 50mm tall with 2mm hole just below the top
According to my friend, who imports these stones, the Maya carvers considered this stone an especially auspicious and beautiful specimen so I splurges on it. I wasn't sure about it until it arrives.
Now it's growing on me too. It seems to have more weight than can be accounted for by its size alone and isgGem just the right size to hold in my hand
It you don't make a necklace out of it, it would make a wonderful pocket stone or something to have on your desk for those times when grounding would help.
Hand carved by Maya artists living and working near the ancient Maya site of Copan, in Honduras. A magical place, where my sister spent 2 years working as an archeologist in the 1980s.
Jade is an extremely hard stone so cutting, drilling, and polishing it is difficult and time consuming work
