Guatemalan Jadeite axe blade shape pendant 16mm wide (at top) by 40mm
From the workshop of Jay and Mary Lou Ridinger, archeologists, who discovered the source of ancient Maya jade in 1974. The source had been lost since Spanish conquest. They currently maintain a small museum in Antigua, Guatemala and employ dozens of carvers who make contemporary and traditional designs for their shop.
