Vintage Venetian green "Watermelon" chevron beads on 23-inch Strand
These beads are created in a multi-step process just like the blue chevrons, but then for some reason the ends are pinched and the some of the beads also flattened. You barely see the 4 layer chevron pattern at the ends of some of the beads.
It's the points of the white stars underneath the green outer layer that give these beads their watermelon-like stripes.
Made in Venice, Italy, early 1900s for the African trade
