These beads are created in a multi-step process just like and other blue chevron bead, but then for some reason the ends are pinched so you barely see the 4 layer chevron pattern inside
These beads are usually made in green glass and it's the points of the white stars underneath the outer layer that give these beads their watermelon-like stripes.
Somebody must have decided to try it in blue, but these are rare so I guess it didn't catch on.
Made in Venice, Italy, early 1900s for the African trade
