Very are antique Venetian mini 7-layer chevrons from Peru, Set of 19 beads
The beads are faceted and range in size from 4 to 7mm diameter
7 layer chevrons, with the inner layer being a light blue green color were made in Venice, Italy between 1480 and about 1580.
The Spanish conquistadors, like Francisco Pizarro who stole boatloads of gold form the Inca empire, brought these little chevrons with him to Peru in the 1530s
I found them in the antiques area of the main Lima market in the early 1980s
Now they are looking for a new home.
