Antique Venetian glass lampworked trade beads, colloquially known as "Good Beads" because they were more highly valued by the Africans themselves than the mosaic trade beads buyers from the global north coveted in the early days (1960s and 70s) Today we've learned to appreciate them too.
This strand is made up exclusively of the more desirable darker amber color with matching designs of red, white and blue "French flag" surface designs
About 15% of the beads on this strand do have noticeable nicks or chips so I've priced it lower, but it's still a very long and high quality strand by today's standards.
I bought it in Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire in 1972 when the strands were about 30% longer and overall the beads were in much better condition than they are today
These were made in Venice Italy during the late 1800s and early 1900s for the African trade.
