Warm brick brown 2-3mm vintage seed beads from the African trade
These are about the same dimensions as size 8 seed beads, but with more interesting variation in shape and a nicely aged patina
There were made in Europe during the late 1800s to about 1914
These strands are quite uniform and in excellent condition
Because they were made from the same glass at the same time, vintage and antique seed beads are the perfect choice for use as spacers with manyVenetian trade beads.
When I got started stringing African beads I didn't realize how important it was to have spacer beads with a similarly aged patina to go with my Trade Beads.
Fortunately I had a chance to return to Africa and stock up on the smaller beads to go with the larger focals I had originally concentrated on. I'm glad I did because these strands in good condition are getting increasingly harder to find.
