When I bought a bunch of extraordinary Afghan Lapis collars a few years ago I got inspired to take them apart and reimagine them in new ways. (See GMO-69, GMO-72, GMO-74, GMO-75, GMO-76, GMO-80 or GMO-172 to see the originals)
Here two strands connect the collar components. Notice the different spacing in the two rows of beads, which join to form a single strand around the back. Gold plated daisy spacers and clasp. 17 inches long
