When I bought a bunch of extraordinary Afghan Lapis collars a few years ago I got inspired to take them apart and reimagine them in new ways.
Here three big medium size Lapis trapezoids combine with 10mm round lapis beads and pearls. 20 inches long.

As a working jeweler who has supported myself, at least partially, with my work since I was in my teens, I've learned to make as many variations on a theme as can with any given set of materials before I put those away and select a new palette. With more complex colors combos I challenge myself to see how far I can "push" it by layering in tiny amounts of adjacent or complementary colors.
All my work is strung on soft flexible cable wire. I prefer the Flex-Rite brand.
