These artisanally cast beads, made in India, are reminiscent of Baoule lost wax castings for West Africa
Polished to a soft glow, not too shiny
Their size and shape are consistent, but they retain enough traces of their handmade origins to distinguish them from machine mass produced castings
Holes are less than 1mm, not big enough for leather
Light enough for earrings, smooth enough for bracelets, and offering eye-catching shapes for necklaces, these work well with most glass and stone beads, as well as resin, bone, horn, wood and other organics and are among my personal favorites for earrings with small trade beads, faux amber, etc.
