Small, but exquisite Tom Boylan "eye" bead 28x20mm
Dark blue base with lighter blues and golden highlights in the "eyes"
Each bead designed by the late Tom Boylan is unique
Self-taught artist, Tom was one of the earliest American contemporary glass bead-makers. Also an avid gardener and astrologer, his beads seem infused with both nature and the cosmos. They appeal equally to men and women, and were among the most popular we carried in the Beadazzled stores.
Tom used borosilcate tubing as the base for his beads, adding dots and stripes. Then temporarily closing off one end, he blew into the tube to achieve the desired size and shape of the bead. As a final touch he gave the ends a twist.
