Large Tom Boylan bead, dark base with many sunset colored eyes 35x29mm
The eyes can shift from golden orange to almost red violet depending on the light
Each bead designed by the late Tom Boylan is unique
He was self-taught one of the earliest American contemporary glass bead-makers. Also an avid gardener and astrologer, his beads seem infused with both nature and the cosmos. They appeal equally to men and women, and were among the most popular we carried in the Beadazzled stores.
Tom used borosilcate tubing as the base for his beads, adding dots and stripes. Then temporarily closing off one end, he blew into the tube to achieve the desired size and shape of the bead. As a final touch he gave the ends a twist.
