6mm Labradorite faceted rondells, very nice facets and fire on 16-inch strands
Photo does not do these beads justice, capturing the fire is hard :(
Labradorite is named after the Labrador Peninsula in Canada where it was first found in 1770, although it didn't become widely popular until centuries later.
Then and now it's prized for its "fire" (aka labradorescense) which gives of intermittent flashes of blue, green, gold or other colors depending on the light
Labradorite's quality and price is judged largely on the amount of fire it has
It's found in Canada, Madagascar, Mexico, Russia and the USA
Robert Simmons declares labradorite to be "the gemstone of magic, and it awakens in those who carry or wear it, the awareness of one's innate magical powers" and enhancing these abilities, including intuition, clairvoyance, telepathy, and other psychic abilities.
