The dark chocolate-, or coffee-colored brown, with the warm creamy beige, and the neatness of the design, stand out among lots of less successful efforts
I don't know how these are made, but it's probably some variant of the ancient carnelian decorating process. It involved painting an alkali paste onto the surface of the bead in the desired pattern, then heating the bead so the mixture penetrated into the rock.
