These are antiqued so that the details on the clasp show up. The antiquing also makes these a good choice for necklaces using ethnographic or antique beads that will be a better match for the darker silver
Despite its small size, this clasp is work-hardened, so it can handle somewhat heavier/larger necklaces than other small clasps. Pro Tip: using small beads near the clasp will make it easier for the wearer to open the clasp.
