Hardcover, 112 pages with color photos on almost all of them
This book is a record of the state of the art of seed beading at the end of the 20th century.
It showcases 81 works by 54 "leading edge" bead artists (almost all of them seed beaders). They were selected by a jury that included Joyce Scott, for the first Beadworks exhibition at the Dairy Barn Southeastern Ohio Cultural Arts Center.
The work is widely varied in size, subject matter, and more. Each photo is accompanied by a short text about the artist and the work.
This book could be a trip down memory lane for some, and a new discovery and source of inspiration for younger artists or those new to the medium.
