These, stamped on both sides coin shape beads, have been wrapped around the edges in a silver frame that looks as if it were soft, rather than rigid metal.
The slight variations in shape set these beads, sets them apart from other more precise Thai silver designs, and makes each one unique
Our Thai silver (aka Hill Tribe) is made by Karen smiths and other ethnic groups living in villages in the highlands of the Golden Triangle near Chiang Mai. In addition to the beautiful soft glow of the fine silver, the work is meticulous, often featuring detailed stamped or etched designs in traditional, as well as contemporary, shapes and patterns.
Finer silver tarnishes less than sterling, but adding a polishing cloth to your silver purchases is always a good idea. Regular gentle rubbing will keep the silver from needing to be cleaned with harsh chemicals.
