Huge Thai silver corrugated melon beads, 28mm diameter. The designs is accentuated by texturing the high points of the ridges and antiquing the valleys
These beads have very large holes - about 6-7mm
I'm always on the hunt for very large round beads and was happy to find these in Thailand in October 2024 just before silver prices rose. Quantity is limited.
Our Thai silver (aka Hill Tribe) is made by Karen smiths and other ethnic groups living in villages in the highlands of the Golden Triangle near Chiang Mai. In addition to the beautiful soft glow of the fine silver, the work is meticulous, often featuring detailed stamped or etched designs in traditional, as well as contemporary, shapes and patterns.
