Facsimile of higher value heirloom quartz crystal earring, probably traded for from Assam or India proper, worn daily by Ao women.
Glass substitutes were worn by less wealthy women, but are still hard to find because of their fragility. Many were strung together after breaking to continue to be worn as a necklace.
Multiple version were collected in the 1970’s – 1980’s.
