Blue, brown and grey small powderglass beads 5x7mm on 30-inch strand
These date from the mid-1970 to early 1980s when striped Krobo powerglass beads began appearing, but before the introduction of commercial pigments
The striped effect is created by layering different colors of pulverized glass into small depression in a clay mold. The mold, and all the beads-to-be, are heated until the glass just fuses. These got a little hotter than most because they almost all have a bit of a glossy finish, whereas most powderglass is matte.
These are nice reminder of a bygone era in Krobe powderglass
