Here we enter what I call Level 2 of powderglass beadmaking, where horizontal stripes are achieved by layering different colors of glass on top of each other in the mold. This starts in the 1970s when recycled bottle glass is the only source so the colors are quite limited, but it's the beginning of experimentation that is still going on today in this vibrant Krobo bead industry in Ghana
