Double strand Berber necklace of vintage or antique coral beads with 19 silver/white metal pendants, largest 45mm long, smallest 16mm
Beaded portion of the necklace is 12 inches long with additional cords on either side. The pendants include several Hamsa (hand) amulets, antique coins, newer coin reproductions, etched, repousee, and stamped designs and one set with a red glass "stone" One two sided one has a lovely blue/green patina on one side. I have left the pendants "as is", but the could be polished.
The coral beads are sections of small branches, drilled lengthwise. Most are about 4mm diameter and 8-10mm long
Berber people have had a long affinity the organic gems: amber and coral, but also for silver, which has served women as a "savings account" to help them survive hard times. When worn it helps identify her social status and tribal identity, and many find solace in the belief that various silver amulets will protect them from danger and disease.
The final beads before the cord begins include two traditional silver cornerless cube (or rectangle) beads, what might be an old powder glass bead, and some cheap silver tone beads.
