The dots are applied after the powderglass bead has been removed from the furnace, removed from the mold, and cleaned.
The glaze used to make the dots is a paste of finely powdered glass mixed with ceramic coloring agents and a little water. It's applied with a small pointed stick.
The amount of work in these small beads is impressive!
Making small beads is often harder than making big ones, in this case it takes more time to do the precision work of adding the dots to the beads, and there are more small beads than large ones are needed to fill a 24-inch strand. I expect the price for these to go up if they keep making them.
