Extra long strand of extra large "Dutch Dogon" beads, mostly cobalt blue 20-22mm but with 9 lighter, brighter blue beads finishing off the strand.
These could have been made in the Netherlands or Germany between 1700 and 1800. For some reason they became favorites of the Dogon people in Mali
These are actually larger and more opaque than standard blue Dutch Dogon beads and could be related the the large turquoise color Padre beads (See AFT-227) of which the smaller size became very popular in the American southwest, while the larger beads remain very desirable in SE Asia, the Philippines, China and even India.
