  • These are priced and sold by the set of 5, 21x12mm, 20x12mm and 15x12mm
  • Bear claw or bear paw are the "campfire" or "mountain man" names for these early, antique Venetian off-white trade beads with scattered dark red, white and dark blue murrine.
  • These are a later version of the original Bear Paw. They have black cores, but just as with the earlier ones, I'm almost convinced that entire small chevron beads were pressed into the semi-molten surfaces of these beads, rather than simple murrini slices.
  • Made in Venice, Italy for the African trade, early to mid-1800s
  • From the collection of Joyce Diamanti, bead researcher, writer and educator
